Y Question Outfitters offers hunts for

Prairie Dog, Mule Deer, White Tail Deer, Antelope, Turkey, Coyote, Pheasant, Hungarian Partridge, and Sharptail Grouse. We also cater hunts for rifle, muzzleloader, and archery.

We customize our hunts, ask about our deluxe package where you stay at the ranch and enjoy our hospitality for the duration of your hunt!

We have begun Prairie Dog hunts as of 2007. If you want to shoot varmints, you'll find some of the best land anywhere! We have even hunted them with open sight muzzleloaders! Bring plenty of ammunition!

About us:Y Question Outfitters is based mainly in Mellette County (South Central) South Dakota. We own or lease close to 40,000 acres in our fifth generation family ranch.
For those who enjoy the beauty of untamed land and remoteness, we are your guides. White River, SD is the closest town at a 40 minute drive, ensuring you a private retreat from the world and allowing you to focus on your hunting!
Billy Burnette, owner, provides professional guide services for all hunts. He has been a professional guide for nearly 30 years in five states, returning to his home in 2007.
If you are looking for a good time with friends and an experience to remember come with us! These services provide you with the most exclusive, private, and custom hunts available in the area, perfect for the ultimate retreat from the modern world and instrusions.

Pricing: We customize every hunt to our clients needs and interests so please contact us directly for pricing. Because of our remoteness we prefer to work out a package deal that includes meals at the ranch so you can get right back out to hunt and have less time traveling.

Licensing: Small Game, Varmint, and bird (except turkey) licenses can be purchased from South Dakota Game Fish & Parks or from the Gus Stop II in White River.
Big Game licenses (Turkey, Deer, & Antelope) can also be purchased online from the Game Fish and Parks. Please note the county is Melette (#50). Contact us to apply as a group to get landowner preference. Otherwise make sure to apply by the first drawing dates.

Meals: You'll never go hungry at the Burnette Ranch!
We provide good home cooked meals on most of our big game hunts. Nothing tastes better on the wide open prairie than a home cooked meal with all the fixings and few can match Gina's good Southern home cooking!


Lodging: For many of our big game hunt packages you stay with the family on the Burnette ranch, enjoying down home hospitality in between your hunts as you are treated as part of the family.
